Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a Youth Development Leader for before/after-school and day camp programs in Houston, TX. You will create a safe, engaging environment and lead activities that support youth growth.

Requires high school diploma or GED, 18+, CPR/First Aid/AED training, and ability to pass background checks. Part-time hours include after-school and day camp shifts with occasional Saturdays.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months of experience working with youth in a licensed facility, school, church, or similar setting.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention training (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities.
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Ability to pass state/local background checks and fingerprinting.
• TB test and any required immunizations per state/local guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, fun, and enriching environment for before/after-school and day camp programs.
• Champion safety and supervision by monitoring activities and headcounts.
• Guide positive behavior using constructive discipline techniques.
• Lead engaging activities that align with YMCA curriculum.
• Model YMCA values of honesty, respect, responsibility, caring, and faith.
• Support daily operations and ensure a clean, organized space.
