Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a Youth Development Leader to join our before/after school and day camp programs in Katy ISD, Conroe ISD, and Humble ISD. An additional $3.00 per hour stipend is available on top of base pay for eligible locations.

You will create a safe, fun, and enriching environment where youth feel supported, valued, and inspired to learn. You’ll supervise activities, model YMCA values, and collaborate with families and staff.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months of experience working with youth in a licensed facility, school, church, or similar setting.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention training (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities.
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Ability to pass state/local background checks and fingerprinting.
• TB test and any required immunizations per state/local guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, fun, and enriching environment for youth in before/after‑school and day camp settings.
• Monitor activities, conduct headcounts, and respond to situations using YMCA policies.
• Lead engaging activities and adapt to diverse needs while modeling YMCA values.
• Support daily operations and maintain a clean, organized program space.
• Build strong relationships with children, families, school staff, and YMCA team.
