Job summary

You will join the YMCA of Greater Houston as a Youth Development Leader in our Before/After School and Day Camp programs serving Katy ISD, Conroe ISD, and Humble ISD. You’ll help create a safe, engaging environment for youth and families with a focus on fun and learning.

This role offers a temporary $3.00 per hour stipend in eligible locations, with opportunities for growth and development within a mission‑driven team. The schedule is part‑time and aligned with ISD calendars.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of experience working with youth in licensed facilities, schools, churches, or similar settings.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• CPR, First Aid, AED and Child Abuse Prevention training (or willingness to obtain) required.
• Ability to plan and lead age‑appropriate activities.
• Ability to pass state/local background checks and fingerprinting.
• TB test and required immunizations per state/local guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, fun, and enriching environment for youth in before/after‑school and day camp programs.
• Monitor activities, conduct headcounts, and follow YMCA safety policies.
• Lead activities that align with the YMCA curriculum and adapt to diverse needs.
• Model YMCA values: honesty, respect, responsibility, caring, faith.
• Support daily operations to keep spaces clean, organized, and compliant with standards.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, school staff, and teammates.
