Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston seeks a Youth Development Leader to energize before/after school and day camp programs. You’ll create a safe, inclusive space where children feel valued, learn, and grow through engaging activities and positive role modeling.

This active role requires you to supervise, plan age-appropriate activities, and collaborate with families and school staff to ensure high-quality youth development experiences.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with youth in licensed settings preferred.
• CPR/First Aid/AED training or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, fun, and enriching environment in before/after school and day camp programs.
• Monitor activities and supervise youth, following YMCA policies.
• Lead age-appropriate activities and adapt for diverse needs.
• Model YMCA values: honesty, respect, responsibility, caring, faith.
• Support daily operations and maintain a clean, safe space.
• Build positive relationships with youth, families, and staff.
• Maintain proper sign-in/out procedures and supervise program areas.
