Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston in Katy, TX is seeking a Youth Development Leader for before/after school programs. This part-time role emphasizes safe, engaging activities that support children’s growth and families.

You’ll lead activities, supervise groups, and collaborate with staff to create welcoming environments. Ideal candidates are 18+, have a high school diploma, and CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it. Compensation includes base hourly pay plus a temporary stipend.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six months of experience with youth in licensed facilities, schools, churches, or similar settings.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention training (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities.
• Able to pass state/local background checks and fingerprinting.

Responsibilities

• Lead before/after school programs and day camp activities.
• Create a safe, fun, and enriching environment for youth.
• Monitor groups, supervise children, and ensure sign-in/out procedures.
