Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a Youth Development Leader for our before/after-school and day camp programs in the Katy, Conroe, and Humble ISD areas. You will create a safe, engaging environment, lead age-appropriate activities, and support families through positive interactions with staff.

The role requires 18+ years, HS diploma or GED, 6 months of related experience, and valid CPR/First Aid. You’ll enjoy a $3.00 per hour stipend on top of base pay, flexible part-time scheduling, and

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six months of experience working with youth in a licensed facility, school, church, or similar setting.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention training (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities.
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Ability to pass state/local background checks and fingerprinting.
• TB test and any required immunizations per state/local guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, engaging environment in before/after-school and day camp programs.
• Lead age-appropriate activities and adapt to diverse youth needs.
• Monitor safety, supervise participants, and enforce YMCA policies.
• Build positive relationships with youth, families, and staff.
• Support daily operations and ensure program spaces meet standards.
• Promote inclusive, respectful behavior and teamwork.
