The YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a Youth Development Leader to energize before/after school and day camp programs in Katy ISD, Conroe ISD, and Humble ISD. You’ll create safe, engaging activities that support kids’ growth, learning, and well‑being.

Earn an additional $3.00 per hour through a temporary stipend for eligible locations, while you contribute to a supportive team and positive youth development in a faith-based, community-focused setting.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months of experience working with youth in a licensed facility, school, church, or similar setting.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention training (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities.
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Ability to pass state/local background checks and fingerprinting.
• TB test and any required immunizations per state/local guidelines.

Responsabilités

• As a Youth Development Leader, create a safe, fun, and enriching environment in before/after school and day camp programs.
• Keep children safe, engaged, and accounted for; monitor activities per YMCA policies.
• Use positive behavior-management techniques to support social and emotional growth.
• Lead games, projects, and hands-on learning aligned with YMCA curriculum.
• Model YMCA values of honesty, respect, responsibility, caring, and faith.
• Maintain a clean, organized program space meeting standards.
• Build strong relationships with children, families, staff, and school partners.
• Ensure proper sign-in/out procedures and vigilant supervision.
