Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a Youth Development Leader for its Before/After School Programs and Day Camp. This part-time role offers a base pay of $13.00 per hour, with a temporary $3.00 per hour stipend for eligible locations serving Katy ISD, Conroe ISD, and Humble ISD.

Duties include creating a safe, engaging environment and leading age-appropriate activities. You will model YMCA values, supervise youth, collaborate with families and staff, and help maintain compliant, welcoming

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months of experience with youth in a licensed facility, school, church, or similar setting.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention training (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities.
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Able to pass state/local background checks and fingerprinting.
• TB test and required immunizations per guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, fun, enriching environment for before/after-school and day camp.
• Lead activities; ensure youth are engaged, supported, and valued.
• Monitor safety, conduct headcounts, follow YMCA policies.
• Model YMCA values and foster inclusion in all interactions.
• Maintain clean, organized spaces and support program operations.
• Build positive relationships with families, staff, and school partners.
• Supervise program areas to protect youth and follow sign-in/out procedures.
