Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston in Katy, TX is seeking a Youth Development Leader for before/after school and day camp programs. You will help create a safe, engaging environment for students across Katy ISD, Conroe ISD, and Humble ISD while earning base pay $13.00 per hour plus a $3.00 per hour stipend.

This part-time role requires 18+, a high school diploma or GED, CPR/First Aid training, and the ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months of experience working with youth in a licensed facility, school, church, or similar setting.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention training (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities.
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Pass state/local background checks and fingerprinting.
• TB test and any required immunizations per state/local guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, fun, and enriching environment for before/after-school and day camp programs.
• Supervise and lead activities, ensuring youth safety and engagement.
• Lead YMCA curriculum through games, projects, and hands-on learning.
• Model YMCA values in all interactions with children and families.
• Support daily operations and maintain a clean, organized program space.
• Build strong relationships with children, families, school staff, and YMCA team.
• Ensure proper sign-in/out procedures and vigilant supervision.
