Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware seeks a Jr. Youth Development Professional - Agriculture to assist in operating a school-age program in Seaford, DE. You will help deliver engaging activities for ages 6–12 and ensure all activities meet state licensing standards.

The role requires 16+ age and compliance with minor work rules. You will support a safe, energetic environment and uphold club policies, while working under the Impact Programs Team and Club Director.

Qualifications

• 16 years of age or older.
• Work permits are required for all employed minors under 18.
• Minors 16-17 may not work more than 12 hours in a combination of school & work per day.
• Must have at least eight consecutive hours of non-work, non-school time in each 24-hour period.
• May not work more than five hours continuously without a non-work period of at least 30 consecutive minutes.

Responsibilities

• Comply with current state licensing requirements for school-age childcare centers; address non-compliance issues as needed or directed.
• Assist Childcare/Program Director in delivering age-appropriate programs for children ages 6–12 reflecting Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware’s five core program areas and Youth Development Strategy.
• Help ensure safe implementation of all programs and activities; monitor equipment, facilities, age-appropriateness, weather, and supplies.
• Present yourself as a positive role model for children at all times.
• Adhere to the policies and practices of BGCDE and Delaware STARS.
• Contribute toward development of a positive identity and strong presence for the organization in the community.
• Assume other tasks and responsibilities as needed or directed.
