Job summary

Urban Strategies is hiring a Youth Care Worker in San Benito, Texas, to engage unaccompanied children and support their development and care plans. You will supervise daily activities, support education and social participation, and coordinate with caseworkers to ensure safety and cultural programming.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, 12 months of relevant experience, a driver’s license, and bilingual English/Spanish.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 12 months of experience working with young people.
• Driver’s license required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish.
• Competencies: proactive, mediates conflict, team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring a safe home for UC’s.
• Provide line of sight and sound supervision of children to meet ratio requirements.
• Supervise children to meet ratio requirements.
• Provide new and challenging opportunities for development.
• Encourage independence and learning competencies.
• Engage clients in educational and social activities.
• Facilitate community access and integration.
• Maintain tracking documents, logs, and reporting requirements.
• Work as a team with Youth Care workers and shift supervisors.
• Adhere to Case Plan with direction from Caseworkers and supervisors.
• Support appropriate cultural activities.
