Job summary

Upbring in Brownsville, TX is seeking a Youth Care Worker to provide direct care and supervision for Unaccompanied Children (UC) in a safe, therapeutic environment, ensuring ORR licensing standards are met. You will conduct intake, provide basic needs, and document interventions with a collaborative team.

Strong bilingual English/Spanish, the ability to work 12-hour shifts, and strict adherence to licensing and regulatory requirements are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bilingual in English and Spanish as per service area.
• Must be at least 21 years old with 1 year in child welfare or similar setting.
• Strong communication, de-escalation, and ability to follow behavior plans and ORR standards.
• Proficiency with basic computer skills and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake for UC, assist with placement and orientation.
• Provide basic needs: meals, clothing, hygiene, daily routines.
• Supervise UC and enforce behavior limits per plan and ORR standards.
• Document interactions and interventions; 1:1 monitoring as directed.
• Assist UC with social skills and daily living activities; accompany on outings.
• Participate in meetings and training; support evacuation during emergencies.
