Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of King County is seeking an Athletic Staff member to support the Program Director in facilitating pre-designed programs for youth during out-of-school time. You will engage youth safely through interactive activities, help plan weekly calendars, and maintain organized, welcoming spaces.

The role emphasizes communication with children and families, confidentiality, and a positive, developmentally appropriate approach. Flexible part-time hours and a focus on safety are key.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or currently enrolled in high school.
• Youth development experience preferred.
• Knowledge and/or experience working with a non-profit youth development agency, Boys & Girls Club experience preferred.
• Good organization and attention to detail, professional presence, strong customer relations skills and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
• Understanding of youth development principles, ability to motivate youth in a positive way.
• Ability to learn and support new ideas for the good of the Club.
• Minimum 1 year of experience with school age children preferred.
• Able to communicate effectively with children and other adults.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for creating and implementing weekly program calendars for summer.
• Contribute to ensuring a healthy and safe environment while helping to ensure that facilities, equipment and supplies are maintained.
• Contribute to planning, developing, implementing and evaluating programs, services and activities.
• Ensure a productive work environment.
• Prepare activities which ensure that a culturally and developmentally appropriate program is offered.
• Develop positive interactions with children and their families.
• Ensure that all rooms are maintained to high standards of safety; are organized and neat.
• Transport small groups of children in a safe and careful manner on field trips using a Club twelve passenger van, walking or using public transit.
• Meet regularly with the staff and director to ensure the smooth running of all programs.
• Work assigned shift, with an expectation to be flexible.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
