Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of King County is seeking a Youth Development Professional to support club leadership and deliver a safe, engaging, youth-centered experience in the gym, learning center, computer lab, and other spaces in Tukwila, WA.

The YDP will work directly with youth, manage boundaries, and help plan and evaluate activities while maintaining confidentiality and promoting inclusive, equitable programming.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience working with a nonprofit youth development agency or Boys & Girls Club environment preferred
• HS diploma required to work in a licensed program
• Must be 18+ years old to work in a licensed program
• Strong organization, attention to detail, professional presence and confidentiality
• Understanding of youth development principles and ability to motivate youth positively
• Collaborate with other Clubs, Sites and Community Partners
• Model strengths-based problem solving, goal setting and study skills
• Experience working with diverse cultures preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide engaged presence to prepare youth for success while creating a safe and healthy Club environment that facilitates positive youth development
• Ensure facilities, equipment, and supplies are maintained
• Assist with planning, developing, implementing and evaluating programs
• Collect and track Club member attendance, coursework and behavior data
• Model mature work behaviours to ensure a productive work environment
• Ensure program areas are set-up and cleaned up daily
• Assist in facilitation of club programs and BGCA core programs
• Assist in facilitation of High Yield Learning Activities (HYLAs)
• Maintain member confidentiality during and after employment
• Engage with parents and families to build partnerships
• Develop programs supporting healthy lifestyles, good character, and academic success
