Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of King County in Federal Way, WA is seeking an Athletic Staff to support youth programming in after-school and summer contexts. You will help create weekly calendars, ensure safety, and engage youth through interactive activities.

The role emphasizes teamwork, positive youth development, and the ability to transport groups on field trips as needed. It is a variable part-time, under 20 hours per week, hourly position with benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or current high school enrollment.
• Youth development experience preferred.
• Non-profit youth development exposure or BG Club experience preferred.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and professional presence.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Understanding of youth development principles and ability to motivate youth.
• Minimum 1 year of experience with school-age children preferred.
• Effective communication with children and adults.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement weekly program calendars for summer.
• Maintain a healthy and safe environment; ensure facilities, equipment and supplies are maintained.
• Plan, develop, implement and evaluate programs, services and activities.
• Ensure a productive work environment.
• Prepare activities which ensure a culturally and developmentally appropriate program.
• Develop positive interactions with children and their families.
• Ensure rooms are maintained to high safety, organized and neat.
• Transport small groups of children on field trips using a Club van, walking or transit.
• Meet regularly with staff and director for smooth operation of all programs.
• Work assigned shift with flexibility.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
