Job summary

Proficient Auto Logistics (PAL) is seeking a Yard Supervisor/Dispatcher in Albuquerque to support contractors, ensure DOT and company standards, and oversee yard inventory and damage management.

The role involves coordinating loads, maintaining safety, reconciling inventory weekly, addressing damaged or aged freight, and assisting the Terminal Manager to keep vehicle movement on schedule. Strong communication and leadership are essential for daily operations across drivers and contractors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Management experience in auto transport preferred.
• Ability to work weekends when necessary.
• Excellent management, supervisory and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Helps maintain safe working environment by reminding drivers of any yard safety concerns identified.
• Responsible for accurate reconciliation of yard inventory weekly; generates document trail through scanners or reports; coordinates reconciliation with the Terminal Manager to ensure freight is accounted for and shippable. Reports ALL results weekly
• M akes identifying lost or damaged units a high priority daily; researches the magnitude of the issue and who is responsible timely; expedites the shipping of damaged/disabled freight
• Works with Terminal Manager to minimize aged freight; When aged freight materializes makes resolution a priority; works with outside carriers to ensure vehicle movement commitments are honored;
• Consistently follows Company dispatch priorities; builds loads accurately and timely to ensure efficient vehicle movement; applies good judgement in modifying equipment requirements based on available equipment
• Responds to customer inquiries in a professional and helpful manner; understands customer’s sense of urgency associated with the status of vehicle movement
• Responsible for mastering research and investigation techniques used to manage lost or damaged unit claim management; completes all forms and requests for information accurately and with detail
• Educate new drivers, contractors and sub-haulers on yard standard operating procedures as set forth by the railroad/port.
• Manages the terminal in the absence of the Terminal Manager and/or Assistant Terminal Manager.
