Job summary

Ascension is seeking radiology professionals to capture high-quality diagnostic images, administer contrast media within scope, and ensure accurate labeling and data integrity. You will monitor equipment, follow safety protocols, and contribute to imaging quality improvements across multiple facilities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or higher with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable experience.
• BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire.
• CCI Cardiographic Tech credentialed prior to hire.
• ARRT Radiologic Technologist credentialed prior to hire.
• ARDMS Sonographer credentialed prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Capture high-quality diagnostic images by positioning patients and selecting exposure factors.
• Administer contrast media and medications within scope, monitor for reactions, follow radiation safety protocols.
• Ensure images sent to PACS are high-quality, correctly labeled with patient data and history.
• Monitor equipment function, report malfunctions, maintain clean department.
• Evaluate imaging protocols and suggest refinements to improve standards and efficiency.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Capture high-quality diagnostic films by precisely positioning patients and selecting optimal exposure factors.
• Administer contrast media and medications within scope, monitor patients for abnormal reactions, and strictly follow radiation safety protocols.
• Ensure all images sent to PACS are high-quality, accurately labeled with lead markers, and include correct patient data and history.
• Monitor equipment functionality, report malfunctions using lock/tag-out procedures, and maintain a clean, orderly department.
• Evaluate protocols and recommend refinements to enhance imaging standards and operational efficiency.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• One or more of the following required:
  • Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Radiology Technician obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education And Work Experience

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

• 1+ year of recent experience as Radiology Tech.
