Role Description

This is a contract, on-site role for a Workstation Engineer located in the New York City Metropolitan Area. The Workstation Engineer will manage and maintain workstation environments, providing technical support and troubleshooting for end-user hardware and software. Day-to-day tasks include setting up workstations, diagnosing and resolving issues, ensuring security protocols are followed, upgrading systems, and maintaining documentation of configurations and installations.

The successful candidate will join the AMER IT team as a consulting Patch Management Workstation Engineer to assist with security vulnerabilities remediation, workstation infrastructure maintenance, and support. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the financial industry with a solid knowledge of core infrastructure technologies such as Microsoft SCCM/MECM, scripting (Powershell and Power Query), Microsoft Operating Systems, and will possess excellent communication, coordination, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain workstation environments and provide end-user hardware/software support
  • Set up workstations, diagnose and resolve issues, and upgrade systems
  • Ensure security protocols are followed and maintain documentation of configurations and installations
  • Contribute to patch management and remediation efforts for security vulnerabilities
  • Support patching for operating systems and applications; assist with automated and manual patch cycles
  • Automate routine tasks using PowerShell and Power Query where applicable
  • Collaborate with IT Support to address tickets and schedule workstation maintenance with users
  • Utilize Microsoft SCCM/MECM, PowerShell, and Windows OS management effectively
  • Engage with users to coordinate maintenance appointments
Qualifications
  • Experience in Windows workstation security remediation and patch management via SCCM
  • Experience with application patching and security package deployment
  • Patch management remediation for laptops, desktops, and virtual desktops; hands-on involvement when automated cycles fail
  • Automation experience with PowerShell and Power Query
  • Strong communication and documentation skills; end-user support experience required
  • Proficient in Microsoft SCCM/MECM and Windows Workstation OS management
  • Some knowledge of Qualys or equivalent system is a plus
