Job summary

Build-A-Bear Workshop in Woodbury, NJ seeks an Assistant Workshop Manager to support the store manager in operations, guest service, and staff coordination, ensuring a positive experience for guests and associates.

You will lead shifts, assist with hiring decisions, drive sales, maintain displays, manage inventory, and develop a high-performing team to deliver an Experience First culture.

Qualifications

• 2 years of store management experience in a customer-centric business.
• High school diploma required; associate degree preferred.
• Basic understanding of POS, scheduling, HRIS and time/attendance systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Workshop Manager with daily assignments and directing work for associates.
• Support hiring decisions and staff development as part of team leadership.
• Lead shifts, enforce store policies, and communicate disciplinary actions when needed.
• Drive sales by coaching Bear Builders and enhancing the Guest experience to reflect Experience First culture.
• Ensure merchandising displays adhere to brand standards and maintain an inviting store environment.
• Oversee inventory processes, including receiving, stocking and counts.
• Develop a high-performing team focused on delivering exceptional Guest experiences.
