Job summary

Build-A-Bear Workshop is seeking an Assistant Workshop Manager to support the store manager in operations and guest experience. You will manage staff, assist in hiring, drive sales through leadership on the shop floor, and ensure brand-standard merchandising and security compliance.

The role emphasizes leading shifts, coaching Bear Builders, managing inventory, and delivering an exceptional guest experience in a dynamic retail environment.

Qualifications

• 2 years of store management experience
• High school diploma required
• Basic understanding of store technology solutions (POS, scheduling, HRIS, time and attendance)

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Workshop Manager in determining associates' daily assignments and directing work.
• Assist in hiring and promotion decisions and provide feedback for staff advancement.
• Lead and inspire the team during shifts, enforce policies, and ensure security and cash management compliance.
• Drive sales as Floor Leader by coaching Bear Builders and delivering an Experience First guest experience.
• Ensure merchandising displays adhere to brand standards and create an inviting store environment.
• Oversee inventory management: receiving, stocking, and counting inventory.
• Build a high-performing team delivering exceptional guest experiences.
