Job summary

Build-A-Bear in Nashville, TN is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in all aspects of store operations, ensuring excellent Guest service and effective staff management. This role helps execute sales and marketing strategies and drives the store toward targets.

The role requires 2 years of store management experience and a high school diploma, with preference for 2–4 years and an associate degree.

Qualifications

• 2 years of store management experience in a customer-centric environment.
• High school diploma required.
• Basic understanding of store technology solutions (POS, scheduling, HRIS, time and attendance).
• 2-4 years store management experience preferred.
• Associate's (or higher) degree in business, management, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Workshop Manager in determining associates’ daily assignments and directing work, including managing break schedules and priorities, serving as a role model leader.
• Assist in hiring and promotion decisions, including providing feedback and recommendations on applicant selection and staff advancement.
• Lead and inspire the team during shifts, enforce store policies, and communicate violations as needed; manage security, cash handling, safety, and attendance.
• Drive sales as Floor Leader, coach Bear Builders, and create a Guest experience aligned with Experience First culture; forecast and adjust sales based on trends.
• Ensure merchandising displays adhere to brand standards and create an inviting store environment.
• Respond to and lead the team to maintain operational efficiencies and adhere to safety policies.
• Oversee inventory management processes including receiving, stocking, and counts.
• Assist in building a high-performing team delivering exceptional Guest experience.
