Job summary

Build-A-Bear Workshop is seeking a Chief Workshop Manager (CWM) to oversee the workshop’s success, guest experience, and a high-performing team in a fast-paced retail setting. The role emphasizes leadership, payroll forecasting, and adherence to brand standards.

You will drive sales by coaching managers and bear builders, create weekly schedules, and make hiring decisions. The position requires enforcing policies, managing inventory, and developing staff to maintain an exceptional Guest

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of management experience in a customer-centric business.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience using common store technology solutions (POS, scheduling, HRIS, time and attendance).
• 2-4 years of store management experience (preferred).
• Associate’s degree or higher in business, management, or related field (preferred).
• Proficiency in the use of common store technology solutions (POS, scheduling, HRIS, time and attendance) (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Drive sales and team performance by coaching AWMs, SLs, and Bear Builders, ensuring a Guest experience reflecting the Experience First culture.
• Create weekly schedules and assignments with the Assistant Workshop Manager, directing work and priorities.
• Make hiring and promotion decisions based on feedback from the AWM.
• Lead and inspire the team during shifts, enforce policies, and escalate violations to HR/DM when needed.
• Ensure merchandising displays adhere to brand standards and create an inviting store environment.
• Oversee inventory management processes including receiving, stocking, and counts.
• Build and develop a high-performing team with the AWM to deliver exceptional Guest experiences.
