Job summary

Auburn University is seeking motivated individuals for temporary summer labor positions with the AUM Facilities Management team. The role supports campus maintenance, grounds, custodial tasks, and basic trades assistance to prepare facilities for the new academic year.

Work schedules may vary (full-time or part-time) across the summer term, with opportunities to assist HVAC, electrical, painting, and custodial staff while following safety procedures and PPE guidelines.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor.

Responsibilities

• Assist with general maintenance tasks across campus buildings and grounds.
• Support HVAC technicians with basic maintenance and equipment handling.
• Perform interior and exterior painting, including surface preparation and clean-up.
• Assist electricians with minor electrical tasks under supervision.
• Provide support to grounds crews, including mowing, trimming, landscaping, debris removal, and outdoor upkeep.
• Assist custodial staff with cleaning, sanitizing, and preparing spaces for occupancy.
• Move furniture, equipment, and materials as needed for facility turnover.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
• Follow all safety procedures and use PPE as required.
• Complete other duties as assigned by Facilities Management supervisors.

AUM Facilities Management is seeking motivated and dependable individuals for temporary labor positions during the summer term to support campus "summer turns" operations. This role is essential in preparing campus facilities and grounds for the upcoming academic year and involves assisting skilled trades staff, grounds crews, and custodial teams in a variety of maintenance and improvement projects.

Assist with general maintenance tasks across campus buildings and grounds
