Job summary

Career Team is seeking a Workforce Development Specialist to join our team. This role focuses on providing basic career services under the Wagner-Peyser Act to participants eligible for RESEA, a federal grant program delivering reemployment assistance to UI beneficiaries.

Based in North Central Texas with duties split between Stephenville and Granbury centers, the full-time, non-exempt position reports to the RESEA Program Manager.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; at least two years of full-time experience in recruiting, social work, workforce development, or related fields.
• Strong understanding of workforce solutions, job placement strategies, and employer engagement.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with employers and job seekers.
• Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make strategic recommendations.
• Familiarity with labor market trends and employment laws.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM software.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
• Bilingual or Multilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct orientations and disseminate information on workforce programs.
• Provide labor market information tailored to participants.
• Enroll and register individuals in Wagner-Peyser-funded employment services.
• Assess eligibility for unemployment benefits.
• Collaborate with UI claimants to customize services.
• Ensure UI claimants meet work-test requirements.
• Help job seekers find employment and improve earning potential.
• Coordinate and staff job fairs and hiring events.
• Record services and document case notes in WorkInTexas.com.
• Track employment outcomes and maintain data accuracy.
