Job summary

Career Team is hiring a Workforce Development Specialist to deliver basic career services under the Wagner-Peyser Act and RESEA programs. You will help unemployment claimants access reemployment services and customize support to individual needs.

The role involves coordinating orientations, labor market information, and job matching, with a focus on ensuring eligibility and successful outcomes across centers in Texas. Strong communication and data skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required and at least two years full-time experience with direct HR recruiting, social work, or workforce development.
• Knowledge of workforce solutions, job placement strategies, and employer engagement practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for relationship building with employers and job seekers.
• Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and provide strategic recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct orientations and disseminate information about workforce development programs.
• Provide labor market information tailored to participant needs.
• Enroll and register individuals in Wagner-Peyser Act funded services.
• Assess eligibility for unemployment benefits and job placement services.
• Coordinate with UI claimants to customize services and ensure eligibility.
