Job summary

CVS Health is hiring a Software Engineer for Workforce Insights to develop and operate analytics software across Python services, SQL, and workflow code. You will partner with data and HR specialists to deliver maintainable code, tests, and releases, while advancing the analytics stack with governance and security in mind.

The role emphasizes BigQuery transformations, Superset/BI integrations, and CI/CD practices using GitHub Actions across development environments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience or equivalent.
• 3+ years of Python experience with readable, maintainable code and tests.
• 3+ years building or integrating APIs, services, data workflows, or production systems.
• 3+ years across application code, data transformations, and tooling.
• 2+ years SQL expertise in BigQuery, including partitioning and optimization.
• 2+ years Kimball dimensional modeling concepts.
• 2+ years Airflow/Cloud Composer and Python for ETL and automation.
• 2+ years cloud data platforms, especially GCP, BigQuery, IAM, and security.
• 1+ year experience with a semantic/BI layer such as Superset or Power BI.
• 1+ year experience with Git, code reviews, and CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and maintain software features across Python, SQL, and workflow code.
• Translate requirements into technical tasks; collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and HR partners.
• Participate in code reviews and write automated tests for business logic and data contracts.
• Build and maintain BigQuery transformations and models with efficient queries.
• Implement workflow and data integration logic for reliable dashboards and reports.
