Job summary

CVS Health seeks a Software Engineer for Workforce Insights to develop and operate software across Python services, SQL transformations, and BI integrations. You will partner with data and HR stakeholders to translate requirements into maintainable code, tests, and releases, building domain knowledge with experienced teammates.

You will contribute to the analytics stack, ensure security and data governance, and support scalable, reliable releases as part of a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• 3+ years with Python and maintainable code with tests.
• 3+ years building or integrating APIs, services, data workflows, or production systems.
• 2+ years across application code, data transformations, and tooling.
• 2+ years SQL expertise, preferably BigQuery (partitioning, clustering, views).
• 2+ years Airflow/Cloud Composer and Python for ETL and data quality.
• 1+ year experience with BI/gov metrics tools like Superset, Power BI, or Looker.
• 1+ year experience with Git, CI/CD, and GitHub Actions.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and maintain software features across Python, SQL, and workflows.
• Translate product requirements into technical tasks with data engineers, analysts, and HR partners.
• Participate in code reviews and write automated tests for logic, data contracts, and integrations.
• Build and maintain BigQuery transformations and models following conventions.
• Develop and maintain Airflow workflows and deployment tooling.
• Support Superset datasets and dashboard integrations and evaluate APIs/SSO.
