Job summary

CopperPoint Insurance Companies is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Production Underwriter to manage an agency territory and underwriting book of business focused on profitable growth, renewal retention, and strong customer service. The role leads new business development, risk selection, pricing, and agency relationship management within delegated authority.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, insurance, risk management, marketing or related field preferred
• 3–5 years of commercial underwriting experience, workers’ compensation preferred
• Experience managing agency relationships and producer pipelines

Responsibilities

• Owns an assigned agency territory and book of business with accountability for profitable new business production and renewal retention
• Underwrites submissions by analyzing class codes, exposures, payroll, loss runs and experience modification factors
• Makes underwriting decisions within authority and escalates risks as needed
• Prices new and renewal business following underwriting and pricing guidelines
• Develops agency partnership plans, including production goals and pipeline management
• Conducts regular agency visits and producer meetings to communicate appetite and strategy
• Identifies opportunities to expand profitable workers’ compensation production
• Delivers proposals to agency personnel with clear underwriting rationale and coverage terms
• Maintains knowledge of territory including production sources and regulatory landscape
