Job summary

CopperPoint Insurance Companies is seeking a Workers' Compensation Production Underwriter to manage an assigned agency territory and drive profitable growth with strong service. You will evaluate submissions, price new and renewal business, and maintain agency relationships within delegated authority.

You will develop agency partnership plans, conduct regular agency visits, and collaborate with claims, loss control, audit, and operations to support portfolio quality and profitability.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of commercial property and casualty underwriting experience, with workers' compensation underwriting preferred.
• Experience managing agency relationships, producer pipelines, territory plans, or books of business.
• Professional insurance designation (CPCU/ARM/AU/CIC) preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Owns an assigned agency territory and book of business with profitability and retention goals.
• Evaluates workers' compensation submissions using class codes, payroll, loss runs and risk factors.
• Underwrites within authority, escalating risks as needed for leadership review.
• Prices new and renewal business per guidelines, balancing growth and profitability.
• Develops agency partnership plans, including goals and pipeline management.
• Conducts agency visits and producer meetings to communicate appetite and strategy.
