Travelers is seeking a Counsel to manage a caseload of predominantly low to moderate complexity, handling litigation from inception through trial and appeal for insured customers. You will develop litigation strategies, write and argue persuasively, and collaborate with claim partners and clients to achieve optimal outcomes.

The role emphasizes professional development within a national legal organization and local client service excellence, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of insurance defense litigation experience.
• Experience handling cases from inception through trial/hearing & appeal.
• Strong communication and advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply litigation skills to try cases to verdict or negotiate resolutions.
• Conduct legal research and demonstrate strong writing and presentation skills.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery and other documents.
• Attend court events, depositions, and appointments independently.
• Provide case analysis and recommendations to insured clients and claim partners.
• Travel as required to meet business needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
