Job summary

Travelers seeks a Counsel to handle a caseload of predominantly low to moderate complexity, providing proactive litigation and advisory support to insured clients and claim partners. You will manage cases from inception through trial, draft essential documents, and present persuasive arguments with strong legal research and writing.

You will travel as needed, collaborate across teams, and contribute to excellent client service while advancing internal partnerships and using technology to enhance

Qualifications

• 3+ years of insurance defense litigation experience as a practicing attorney.
• Experience handling cases from inception through trial/hearing and appeal.
• Strong communication and persuasive writing skills.
• Ability to build relationships with clients and partners.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply litigation skills to try cases to verdict or negotiate resolution.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs and discovery.
• Attend court events, depositions and appointments independently.
• Provide case analysis and recommendations to insured clients and claim partners.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients and business partners.
• Provide advice and training to Claim partners and clients.
• Utilize case management systems and automation effectively.
• Travel as required to meet business needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
