Job summary

Travelers is seeking a Counsel to handle a caseload of predominantly low to moderate complexity, delivering high-quality, proactive case handling for insured customers.

You will use your litigation expertise to manage cases from inception through trial and appeal, collaborating with claim partners and clients to achieve optimal results while leveraging technology and relationships across the organization.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate or equivalent law degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in the state(s) where representation is required.
• 2 years of experience as a practicing attorney.
• Experience handling hearings, trials, dispositive motions, depositions, or other court proceedings.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply litigation skills to try cases to verdict or negotiate resolutions.
• Conduct legal research and produce persuasive legal writing and presentations.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery and other documents.
• Attend court events, depositions, and appointments independently.
• Provide case analysis and recommendations to insured clients and claim partners on file handling strategies.
• Build and maintain strong internal and external client relationships.
• Provide advice and training to Claim partners and clients.
• Utilize technology and case management systems effectively.
• Travel as required to meet business needs.
