Travelers is seeking a Counsel with a strong background in insurance defense to manage a caseload of low to moderate complexity from inception through trial and appeal. You will collaborate with claim partners, advise clients, and leverage litigation skills to deliver favorable outcomes while representing Travelers’ insured customers.

The role emphasizes independent court appearances, robust legal research, and effective communication with diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of insurance defense litigation experience.
• Experience independently handling cases through trial/hearing & appeal.
• Strong communication and persuasive writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop litigation strategies and try cases to verdict or negotiate resolutions.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions and briefs.
• Attend court events, depositions and other proceedings.
• Provide case analysis and recommendations to insured clients and claim partners.
• Build strong relationships with clients and partners and mentor junior staff.
