Job summary

Travelers is seeking a Counsel to manage a caseload primarily involving insurance defense. You will handle cases from inception through trial and appeal, delivering proactive, high-quality representation for insured clients.

The role requires strong litigation skills, persuasive writing, and the ability to communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders while maintaining a collaborative approach with claim partners.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate or equivalent international legal degree; graduate of an accredited law school.
• 2 years experience as a practicing attorney.
• Active license in good standing to practice law in the applicable state(s).
• Regularly handles hearings, trials, dispositive motions, depositions or other court proceedings.
• Willingness to transport to meetings and travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply litigation skills to try cases to verdict or negotiate resolutions.
• Conduct legal research and craft persuasive writing and presentations.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery and related documents.
• Attend court events, depositions and other appointments independently.
• Provide case analysis and recommendations to insured clients and claim partners.
