You will read complex documents, manage medical treatment to control costs, and develop critical skills in negotiation, investigation, and planning.

Responsibilities

• Complete classroom training introducing workers' compensation claims handling strategies, medical terminology, and legal concepts.
• Learn to use claims management software and other databases for claims handling and reporting.
• Read and interpret statutes, regulations, legal opinions, medical records, bills, and related documents.
• Assist in managing medical treatment to balance care quality and costs.
• Develop skills in investigative communication, negotiation, and decision-making.
• Evaluate facts, write reports, and update proactive action plans.
• Assist in calculating reserves for each claim and adjust as needed.
• Support the legal process on litigated claims.
• Analyze eligibility of benefit payments and authorize payments.
• Communicate with internal and external sources via phone and email.
