Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies is seeking a Claims Adjuster Trainee to manage a caseload of workers’ compensation claims from inception to resolution. The role emphasizes classroom training and hands-on experience in investigations, reserves, and plan development.

After completing the training program, you will handle investigations, reserve calculations, and client relations, while collaborating with Call Center, Medical Management, and Indemnity staff in a fast-paced environment in

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Spanish fluency a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
• Solid organizational skills to meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office/365 and ability to learn proprietary/vendor software.

Responsabilidades

• Completes training on workers' compensation claims handling strategies and skills.
• Conducts initial investigation to determine coverage, compensability, severity, and gathers information via three-point contact calls.
• Calculates reserves for each claim and adjusts as needed per guidelines.
• Develops and updates a Plan of Action for resolving each claim.
• Makes prompt, sound decisions and escalates issues as needed per guidelines.
• Ensures benefits are calculated and notices filed in accordance with legal requirements.
• Fosters positive relationships with internal and external partners.
