Job summary

Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies seeks an experienced Senior Workers' Compensation Claims Professional to manage a complex indemnity claims portfolio from inception to resolution. You will work under general supervision with reserve and settlement authority, advancing process efficiency through initiative and ownership.

Responsibilities include timely three-point contacts, effective negotiation, and collaboration with Medical Management, SIU, Subrogation, Recovery and Legal to ensure

Qualifications

• High School diploma required or equivalent.
• California Claims Adjuster designation with required CE credits.
• Eight years indemnity adjusting experience for large/complex workers' compensation claims.
• Self-Insured certification preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and related databases/software.

Responsibilities

• Manages a complex caseload of workers' compensation indemnity claims from inception to resolution.
• Communicates effectively with injured workers and employers to move the claim forward.
• Provides reserves, settlement recommendations, and litigation support within authority parameters.
• Collaborates with Medical Management, SIU, Subrogation, Recovery and Legal as needed.
• Maintains timely notices and filings and ensures compliance with applicable laws.

Bachelor's degree preferred

California Claims Adjuster designation
