Travelers is seeking a Workers' Compensation Claims Specialist to manage claims from intake through resolution, coordinating medical treatment and return-to-work plans.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1 year Workers' Compensation claim handling experience or completion of WC trainee program.
• Strong knowledge of state WC rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations to assess compensability and reserves.
• Establish and update reserves to reflect claim exposure with documented rationale.
• Coordinate with Medical Case Manager and nurses for treatment and return-to-work plans.
• Negotiate settlements within designated authority to achieve favorable outcomes.
• Manage files with timely contact, proper documentation and resolution of issues.
• Pursue offsets, subrogation and structured settlement options where appropriate.
• Handle potentially complex files with collaboration from legal resources where needed.
• Support litigation strategy to drive optimal outcomes and close files efficiently.
