Job summary

Travelers seeks an Associate Claim Rep, Workers' Compensation, to receive comprehensive training in claim handling, customer service and policy interpretation while building skills with experienced professionals.

The program lasts up to 12 months, after which you’ll manage claims independently and advance toward full claims handling responsibilities. A strong emphasis on learning, collaboration, and professional growth is evident throughout the program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Previous internship or work experience in customer service or insurance.
• Willingness to obtain an active adjuster license where required by state law.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); willingness to learn claims management.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to exercise sound judgement and make effective decisions within established authority.
• Exceptional customer service skills and commitment to providing a positive experience for insureds and claimants.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Basic conflict resolution skills; willingness to learn techniques for facilitating productive discussions and negotiations.
• Demonstrated openness to continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Participate in structured training covering policies, claims processes, systems and procedures.
• Assist in reviewing, investigating, and documenting Workers' Compensation claims under supervision.
• Develop action plans for claim resolution and assess coverage and exposure.
• Participate in telephonic and onsite file reviews.
• Learn to determine coverage, compensability and exposure based on policy terms.
• Gather information from policyholders, claimants, witnesses and third parties.
• Communicate claim status to all parties and maintain records in the claims system.
• Aim to return an injured party to work when appropriate and coordinate medical treatment when needed.
• Acquire and maintain relevant insurance licenses within three months.
