Qualifications

• 2 years Workers’ Compensation claim handling experience.
• Analytical thinking and problem solving to support sound decision-making.
• Clear written and verbal communication with stakeholders.
• Ability to present file resolutions to internal/external stakeholders.
• Negotiation skills to reach fair settlements.
• Knowledge of general insurance contract terms.
• Medical knowledge related to injuries and treatment.
• Understanding of WC processes and jurisdictional requirements.
• Strong teamwork and planning abilities.
• Commitment to continuing education requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations to determine compensability and reserves.
• Establish and update reserves and document rationale.
• Manage files with timely contact and proper documentation to drive resolution.
• Collaborate with medical and legal resources to pursue settlement opportunities.
• Coordinate with Medical Case Manager to integrate medical services into claim strategy.
• Negotiate settlements within designated authority and consider structured settlements where appropriate.
• Maintain insurance licenses and comply with continuing education requirements.
