Job summary

Shaw University invites applications for an Assistant Women’s Bowling Coach to assist the Head Coach in operating a NCAA Division II program. The role focuses on recruiting, player development, academic monitoring, practice planning, scouting, and program administration within the university’s athletic department.

Essential duties include skill development, game prep, and travel coordination, while ensuring academic progress and adherence to NCAA rules.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Coaching or operations experience at collegiate or competitive level.
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel as required.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Coach with daily operations of the women’s bowling program.
Conduct individual and group skill development workouts.
Assist with practice planning, film breakdown, and event preparation.
Support recruiting efforts in accordance with NCAA Division II rules.
Monitor and encourage academic success, personal growth, and student-athlete accountability.
Assist with team travel coordination, equipment management, and operational needs.
Drive university-issued vehicles for team travel and related activities.
Assist with organizing camps, clinics, community outreach events, and fundraising initiatives.
Maintain knowledge of NCAA and university policies and procedures.
Represent Shaw University positively within the athletic department.
