Job summary

Oakton College seeks a part-time Bowling Coach to support the head coaches for men's and women's programs. Responsibilities include coaching, recruiting, and developing student-athletes, coordinating practices and travel, and collaborating with college committees and events.

The role requires coaching experience, NJCAA/NCAA/NAIA rules knowledge, and a valid driver's license, with a focus on holistic student development and academic support for athletes.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent required.
• One year bowling coaching experience at college/high school/club/travel team required.
• Collegiate bowling experience preferred.
• Knowledge of NJCAA/NCAA/NAIA rules preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, planning and leadership skills expected.
• Valid Class "D" driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Coach in planning and conducting in-season and off-season practices and conditioning.
• Assist Head Coach and players during competition days.
• Assist players in bowling skill development through training.
• Assist in recruitment of new players, including regional travel to events.
• Assist in scheduling practices, arranging transportation, and travel logistics.
• Represent the Athletic Department and bowling program on college committees and at events.
• Communicate with other conference and region bowling coaches.
• Participate in coaching professional development and NJCAA regulations training.
• Secure and maintain First Aid and CPR/AED certifications.
• Support academic progress reporting and student-athlete academic services.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
