Job summary

Mobile Communications America, Inc. in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced Communication Systems Technician II to support our Voice division with complex radio and installation work.

You will diagnose and troubleshoot two-way radio systems (P25, MotoTRBO), collaborate with customers to plan installations, and provide 24/7 support, with opportunities to mentor junior technicians. The role may require working inside and outside in varying weather and lifting equipment.

Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years, an average of 5+ years of technical service and installation experience.
• Proficient with radio equipment – installation, programming, and troubleshooting.
• Proven track record of providing hands-on operational, technical, and installation support/service to complex radio and other wireless communications systems/equipment (Two-Way Radios, Land Mobile Radios, P25 Trunking Systems, MOTOTRBO, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and solving complex equipment, programming, system, and installation problems/issues.
• Fixing the system and bringing communications back online to public safety, hospitals, and other mission-critical customers.
• Partnering with customers to develop an installation/programming strategy and coordinate with the team to access locations.
• Assisting in scoping out and quoting of service, installation, and programming projects.
• Supporting the development of talent and technical skill sets of the service team.
• Completing assigned tickets properly and on time.
• Making minor modifications to electronic circuitry per customer request and/or deploying factory updates.
• Demonstrating willingness to learn and be mentored on new technologies in communications and equipment.
• Serving in an on-call rotation and providing 24/7 technical support.
