Job summary

Cantigny, a 500-acre estate in Wheaton, Illinois, seeks 15 Winter Program Staff to support nightly winter events across the estate. This part-time role covers indoor and outdoor duties, with emphasis on guest safety, hospitality, and smooth operations during the winter season.

Responsibilities include assisting with McCormick House experiences, guiding guests, managing entry/exit, and providing basic historical information.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience or willingness to learn.
• Ability to proficiently use computer systems for guest ticketing, payment processing, and scheduling.
• Strong verbal communication skills and interest in guest interactions.
• Ability to work outdoors in winter weather; may involve wet, slippery, uneven walkways.
• Must be able to stand and sit for extended periods.
• Spanish language skills are a plus.
• Must be 18 years of age or older at time of application.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patron safety and security during McCormick House visit.
• Facilitate McCormick House experiences.
• Ensure entry and egress doors are properly administered.
• Provide proactive McCormick House orientation and facilitate smooth traffic flow within the building.
• Ensure security of McCormick House exhibits and displays.
• Alert McCormick House manager-on-duty of food and beverage spills.
• Provide patrons with basic McCormick House historical information if requested.
• Assist McCormick House and Cantigny staff with other duties in, or around the McCormick House.
