Job summary

The State of Nevada in Winnemucca is recruiting for a Highway Maintenance Worker II to support winter and seasonal maintenance across District II. The role involves maintaining road surfaces, winter operations, and assisting in emergency responses. On-site work with no remote option; CDL within 6 months is required; temporary up to six months.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. and will undergo standard pre-employment checks.

Qualifications

• One year of experience performing basic highway maintenance work.
• Or one year of experience as a Highway Maintenance Worker I in Nevada State service.
• A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and perform preventive maintenance on highway maintenance and construction equipment.
• Establish traffic controls and ensure safety in maintenance zones and during emergencies.
• Maintain road surfaces, shoulders and drainage, and assist in winter operations including snowplow use.
