Job summary

NDOT in Nevada is recruiting for Highway Maintenance Worker 2 positions for the Winter Season across District II Hawthorne, Fallon, Wellington, and Yerington. The role involves routine maintenance of roadways, winter operations, and emergency response, with on-site duties and potential inclement weather work.

Incumbents will operate a range of maintenance equipment, oversee safety policies, and support construction and traffic control activities.

Qualifications

• One year of experience performing basic highway maintenance work.
• Or one year of experience as a Highway Maintenance Worker I in Nevada State service.
• Operate and perform preventive maintenance on a variety of light, medium and heavy-duty highway maintenance equipment.
• Provide training in established safety policies and requirements as designated.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain a variety of highway maintenance equipment and perform routine duties.
• Install, repair, and replace roadway signs and signposts; repair lighting and sensors on sign structures.
• Maintain road surfaces, shoulders, drainage, and right-of-way.
• Respond to emergencies and complete required forms and documentation.
