Qualifications

• One year of highway maintenance experience or one year as a Highway Maintenance Worker I in Nevada State service.
• Ability to operate and maintain a wide range of highway maintenance equipment.
• Ability to establish traffic controls in maintenance zones.

Responsibilities

• Operate and perform preventive maintenance and minor repair on highway maintenance equipment.
• Establish traffic controls to reroute or manage traffic in maintenance zones.
• Mix salt and sand stockpiles; apply anti-icing chemicals and perform snow removal with appropriate equipment.
• Maintain radio contact and use ITS data to respond to emergencies and incidents.
• Install, repair and replace roadway signs and related fixtures; monitor contractor work for compliance.
