Job summary

The State of Nebraska is hiring Winter Temporary Highway Maintenance Workers across Albion, Neligh and surrounding areas to perform snow removal and related road maintenance duties this winter season. Positions require at least 18 years old with a valid driver's license; Senior roles require CDL Class A or B with air brakes and tanker endorsements within 60 days.

Starting pay ranges from about $20.39 to $21.95 per hour, with potential overtime depending on weather and operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include being at least 18 years old with a valid driver's license.
• Senior position requires a Class A or B CDL with air brakes and tanker endorsements within 60 days of employment.
• Preferred qualifications include a valid CDL and experience operating heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform snow removal on roadways.
• Operate heavy equipment for road maintenance.
• Perform tree trimming as needed.
• Respond to highway emergencies.
• Safely move, drag, lift, load, and unload equipment, materials, and supplies from the roadway.
• Spread and tamp surfacing materials.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
