Job summary

State of Nebraska (Transportation - Agency 27) is hiring winter temporary maintenance workers for Ainsworth and surrounding areas. Pay starts at $20.39/hour; CDL holders start at $21.953/hour. Positions are winter-only, through March 31, 2027, with hours varying by weather.

Responsibilities include winter operations, snow removal, and heavy equipment operation to keep roadways safe. Applicants must be 18+, possess a valid driver’s license, and may be required to obtain CDL within 60 days.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license.
• CDL with air brakes and tanker endorsements required within 60 days for Senior role.

Responsibilities

• Help with Winter Operations.
• Snow removal.
• Operate heavy equipment for road maintenance.
• Tree trimming.
• Respond to highway emergencies.
• Move/load/unload equipment and materials.
• Spread surfacing materials.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
