Job summary

The State of Nebraska is currently hiring winter temporary maintenance workers in the Lincoln & Surrounding Areas. The role involves assisting in winter operations, snow removal, and operating heavy equipment to ensure highway safety and travel efficiency.

Applicants must be at least 18 and hold a valid driver's license; those with Class A/B CDL with air brakes and tanker endorsements are required within 60 days. CDL preferred and travel may be involved.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license.
• Possession of a Class A or B CDL with air brakes and tanker endorsements required within 60 days of employment.
• Preferred qualifications include a valid CDL A/B and experience operating heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Help with Winter Operations.
• Perform snow removal.
• Operate heavy equipment for road maintenance.
• Perform tree trimming.
• Respond to highway emergencies.
• Move, drag, lift, and unload equipment, materials, and hazardous items from roadways within weight limits.
• Spread and tamp surfacing materials.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
